Join Providence Renewal Centre on Oct 20-22, 2023, for our Fall Retreat as we explore the motto of the Congregation of St. Basil (Basilians), “Teach Me Goodness, Discipline, & Knowledge,” which is based on Psalm 119:66. The Psalms, their spirituality, and the threefold vocation of Goodness, Discipline, and Knowledge are a compelling approach to Christian life and prayer, which extend beyond the foundational principles of the Basilians or religious life, to all Christians. Fr. Warren will also be sharing how the Psalms, especially Psalm 119, extols God’s Law (Torah) and are conceived for communal and liturgical prayer.

Fr. Warren Schmidt, CSB, is a priest of the Congregation of St. Basil (Basilians) and Assistant Professor of Theology at St. Joseph’s College at the University of Alberta, with particular interest in ecclesiology of liturgy and sacramental ritual. Fr. Warren, first professed religious vows in 2009 and was ordained a priest in 2014, has served as Assistant Director of Novices (2021-2023) with the Basilians.
