Providence Presents: Minute Meditations
WELCOME
This week’s focus is welcome. Welcome creates space for what is, as it is, and its unfolding. Welcome requires a posture of openness.
🌟With what posture do we welcome Advent?
🌟What might we be invited to welcome as we pray with scripture, our lives, the news?
🌟How might we welcome longing into our prayer?
ANTICIPATE
This week’s focus is anticipation. Waiting is intensified with anticipation. Anticipation is a future-focused waiting. Anticipation can paint a colorful and circuitous journey.
🌟How is anticipation experienced? With eagerness, with reserve?
🌟What happens when anticipating? Internally, externally?
🌟How is longing expressed or dismissed in or by anticipation?
INVITE
This week’s focus is invitation. To invite or be invited requires action and reaction. There is consequence and risk to be discerned and choice to be exercised.
🌟How do we respond to invitations? To those who invite?
🌟How do we extend invitations? To whom? When, why, and how freely?
🌟How might a sense of longing influence our extending and receiving invitations?
TRUST
This week’s focus is trust. Trust implies relationship. There is both strength and vulnerability in trusting. We long to be trusted and long to trust. Trust welcomes light, anticipates response, and invites connection.
🌟How might trust impact longing?
🌟What qualities/circumstances makes someone/something trust-worthy?
🌟How is trust developed in relationship? How is broken trust restored?

The Labyrinth
We are all on the path . . . exactly where we need to be. The labyrinth is a model of that path. A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path.
