October 14, 2022 7:00 pm - October 16, 2022 12:00 pm

This retreat is POSTPONED. Please register for our Advent Retreat on December 9-11.

This retreat will focus on excerpts from the works of St. Teresa of Ávila that communicate her spirit of thanksgiving and friendship with God through prayer, and how this can be an example for our prayer. The retreat will begin with St. Teresa’s conviction that “God alone suffices” and end with her call to seek friendship with God in Christ in private and communal (liturgical) prayer. We will also take prayerful time to discern God’s presence in the ordinary events of our lives, and to give thanks to God especially in light of the week that follows Canadian Thanksgiving.

Friday, October 14 (7 pm) to Sunday, October 16 (12 noon)

Fr. Warren Schmidt is a priest of the Congregation of St. Basil and instructor at St. Joseph’s College at the University of Alberta. His prayer interest is in the contemplation of God’s presence in everyday life. His academic specialization is in the liturgy of the sacraments, especially the liturgical reforms of Vatican II.
