Women’s Retreat: Created to Breathe

On Ash Wednesday, we are reminded that we are dust and to dust we shall return. Dust that is worth nothing, maybe nuisance, but it this dust that God chose to mold into God’s own image and breathe life.
Throughout our lives, we experience moments that have named us many things, some good, some bad. These stories are that which breathes life into our continuous molding and forming. The breath that has nourished us, the wind that has knocked us out reminding us that we need to inhale again and we do, we have to.
My hope for our time together is to take time to breathe – to recognize the stories that gave given us the breath of life, moments that have reminded that we do have God’s breath in us.

 Rev. Bernice Prema Samuel Born and raised in South India to parents who were significantly involved with the Church and avid advocates of the marginalized. I came to Canada as a student in 2001. I found my life partner in Seminary and we have grown together learning parenting to three children. I currently serve as the Interim Pastor of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Edmonton.
