Food is an integral part of any person’s day-to-day life, and human eating behaviour is extremely compelling due to its biological and social aspects. Various scientific research studies have been done on food and eating, but what do Scriptures and our faith tradition teach us about food and eating? Join us via Zoom in exploring our lived spirituality around food and eating in this Lenten series that bring science and faith together.

Jeanne Mckay Rowan joined the Program Team at Providence Renewal Centre in September 2022. She taught Sacramental Preparation in various capacities and worked in youth ministry in the Archdiocese of Edmonton for over 20 years. She also worked with domestic violence victims in a high-security shelter and a counselling agency. Jeanne holds a Master of Divinity from Newman Theological College.

Monica Purnama joined the Program Team at Providence Renewal Centre in June 2022. Alongside program ministry at PRC, she facilitates self-management workshops as a volunteer Master Trainer for the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program at Alberta Health Services. She completed the Lay Formation Program through the Diocese of Saskatoon in 2015 and holds a Master of Science in Food Science.
